The band won in the Alternative Rock category
During the American Music Awards ceremony that took place yesterday in Los Angeles, Linkin Park won the "Favorite Artist: Alternative Rock" category.
Linkin Park members Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson accepted the trophy, and Shinoda, speaking on behalf of the band, dedicated the award to Chester Bennington
"First of all, thank you to the fans all over the world who voted for our band and supported us through the difficulties. We also want to thank the amazing guys from Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots. I had the chance to talk to them and they said incredible things about Chester, very similar to what fans around the world have been saying.".
We want to dedicate this award to him, to his memory, to his talent, to his sense of humor, to his joy, and to remind you tonight, whether you are a fan or an artist, I want you to take a moment to appreciate everything that each of us has to offer, and thus, make Chester proud.”.
