Last weekend, Linkin Park started a mysterious countdown on their official website .
Upon accessing the page, the site displays a layout with a 2000s aesthetic and a pop-up that shows a message asking the user to click if they want to download a version of "Numb". Upon clicking, an automated message informs that an "error" has occurred and the site is redirected to a countdown that ends on February 1st.
Linkin Park has not yet given further details about what awaits fans at the end of the countdown, but it is speculated to be something related to the 20th anniversary of the album Meteora (2003). In 2020, the band released a commemorative reissue of Hybrid Theory (2000) , including rare recordings and unreleased material. In 2022, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Minutes to Midnight (2007), a deluxe version of the album was released with 4 bonus tracks .
Meteora is one of the most remarkable and emblematic albums of Linkin Park's career, having reinforced the group's presence in the mainstream with hits such as "Numb," "Faint," and "Breaking The Habit." The instrumental track "Session" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 2003.
