Limp Bizkit: Sam Rivers suffered cardiac arrest, according to TMZ.

According to the website, the Fire Department responded to a call about an "unconscious person in cardiac arrest."

According to  TMZ , Sam Rivers , co-founding bassist of Limp Bizkit , died of cardiac arrest at the age of 48. The band posted the announcement of his death last Saturday, October 18th.

According to the website, a spokesperson for the Fire Department said they responded to a call on Saturday about an "unconscious person in cardiac arrest."

To date, the official cause of death has not been revealed. However, TMZ reported that "police responded to an assisted death at that address," said a representative from the Florida Sheriff's Department.

According to TMZ, an "assisted death" is "one in which the deceased was a patient under medical care for a serious or life-threatening illness that would likely lead to death within a relatively short period of time—days or months, but not years." The term may simply indicate the presence of a medical team at the time of death, not necessarily meaning "assisted suicide," as in Brazil.

Sam Rivers left the band in 2015 after being diagnosed with a degenerative disease, but returned in 2018. Years later, Sam stated that his departure was due to liver disease caused by excessive alcohol consumption. The musician underwent a liver transplant.

Recently, DJ Lethal , Sam Rivers' former bandmate, posted a photo of the bassist wearing a t-shirt with the words "Fuck Cancer" and added the same hashtag.
