In homage to Sam Rivers' legacy and thinking about Limp Bizkit's upcoming tour in Brazil, we've put together a playlist to remember some of the band's greatest hits.
“Break Stuff” – Significant Other (1999)
Undoubtedly Limp Bizkit's biggest hit, "Break Stuff" was released on the band's second studio album, Significant Other (1999). The comedic and aggressive track catapulted the group to fame with a music video that cleverly and humorously captured the essence of youth and the chaos of the 2000s. The video featured appearances by Snoop Dogg , Eminem , Dr. Dre , Jonathan Davis of Korn , among others.
“My Way” – Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000)
LouderSound and Kerrang! charts . The video follows the members "trying" to record their next music video, passing through various scenarios.
“Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)” – Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000)
Released alongside the single “My Generation”, “Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)” was Limp Bizkit's most successful single in the United States, reaching number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track received a second, more hip-hop version called “Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)”, which was included in the soundtrack of The Fast and the Furious (2001).
“Nookie” – Significant Other (1999)
"Nookie" was the first single released from the album Significant Other (1999). In a 2008 interview with Kerrang!, guitarist Wes Borland admitted that the song was "cool," but that he "didn't like the lyrics at all." According to vocalist Fred Durst , the track was written about his ex-girlfriend. "It's about how she treated me like crap and I couldn't break up with her. She slept with my friends and used me for money. I tried to understand why I did it and came to the conclusion that it was for the sex ('nookie')."
“My Generation” – Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000)
Released as a single from Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000) along with “Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)”, “My Generation” features references to the songs “My Generation” by The Who , “Welcome To The Jungle” by Guns N' Roses , and “Move Over” by the Spice Girls . The video features a special appearance by professional wrestler Travis Tomko , who worked as the band's bodyguard at the time.
"Take a Look Around" – Soundtrack from Mission: Impossible 2
"Take a Look Around" is a track that also appears on Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000) and is part of the soundtrack for Mission: Impossible 2. The main riff of the single is the same as the theme song from the films starring Tom Cruise . The band publicly stated that they disliked the official music video for the track (which was directed by Fred Durst), likely the reason why it was only officially released in some European countries.
“Behind Blue Eyes” – Cover by The Who (2003)
"Behind Blue Eyes" is a cover of the track by The Who, featured on the album Results May Vary (2003). Limp Bizkit's version is quite popular among fans and offers a new take on the song, altering some parts of the original and adding others. The music video features actress Halle Berry and includes scenes from the film Gothika , in which she starred.
