In an interview with The Times , Liam Gallagher said he believes Oasis “should never have broken up.” He also said he would love to reunite the band. “If it happens, it happens,” says Liam. “But I’m very happy [with my solo career].”
Since Oasis split up in 2009, rumors have surfaced from time to time about a band reunion, despite the fact that Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher don't speak to each other. Liam also claims that he sees Noel as a "different person" since the last time they spoke, "as if he'd been kidnapped."
“But you know I love him,” he adds. “We separated almost 13 years ago. It’s ridiculous. We can go on about whose fault it is, but he owns himself. If he really wanted to get in touch, for my mother’s sake, he could, but he obviously doesn’t want to. There are so many peace offerings you can make.”
Unfortunately for Oasis fans, it doesn't seem like Noel is on the same page as his brother. In May, Noel said he would reunite the band for £100 million (which translates to about US$135 million).
In an interview with The Project , Noel also said that the band's legacy was "set in stone" when asked if Oasis would reunite.
“People ask me that question every day and all I can say is, I simply don’t feel like it,” he explains. “When you’re in a band, it’s an absolute commitment, so no, I don’t think I could have an idea and then pass it on to four people and, six weeks later, someone rejects it because their cat has a cough, so I like to march to the beat of my own drum. Oasis is over.”
