My Youth vocalist Sean Van Vleet , the single details a breakup from a tumultuous and unstable relationship. “'Head Check' is a song about coming to terms with a really bad relationship you were in, like the end of an emotional rollercoaster,” says Letdown. “When you get off, you never want to go back down – you’re finished and laughing at the reason you got on the rollercoaster in the first place. A catastrophic realization has happened.”
