Recently, KK's Priest released a powerful music video for the single "Hellfire Thunderbolt" to announce that their debut album is called Sermons Of The Sinner and will be released on August 20th.

What may surprise some people is that the original lineup, which features three former members of Judas Priest ( KK Downing, Rim “Ripper” Owens and Les Binks ), is missing members on the album, with Les Binks being replaced by drummer Sean Elg .

Fans of the trio's work can rest easy: Binks' absence was not due to any kind of breakup within the band. In an interview with The Metal Voice , the drummer clarified that he didn't appear on the album because of a wrist injury: "I thought it was just a nasty sprain, but the X-ray showed I had a small fracture, so it took a few months to heal completely."

“I didn’t want to delay the whole [album recording] process because I knew KK was eager to go on tour,” Les Binks said. “So I suggested they use another drummer to move forward with the album and get it finished.”

The recording process for Sermons Of The Sinner took place before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, in early 2020. In the same interview, Les Binks talked a bit about the idea of recording an album for KK's Priest, which came about shortly after a show in November 2019.

“It was supposed to be just a one-off show, but I think KK enjoyed being back on stage and he was itching to get back on the road and play for the fans again,” he reported. “So he contacted me shortly afterwards and asked if I wanted to make [KK's Priest] a regular band. And I agreed.”

Les Binks also commented that KK's Priest is not expected to begin its tour schedule until 2022, and that there is a possibility he might participate in the tour in some way.
