Les Binks , former drummer of Judas Priest , has died at the age of 73. According to the website Metal Hammer/Louder , Binks passed away in March, but there are no official reports. The news of his death was only officially announced this Tuesday, April 15th.

Judas Priest posted a note on their social media lamenting Les' death:

“We are deeply saddened by the death of Les and send our love to his family, friends and fans. The acclaimed drumming he delivered was first class, demonstrating his unique techniques, talent, style and precision. Thank you, Les — your accolades will live on forever.”

Les Binks joined Judas Priest in 1977. He also participated in the solo project of Roger Glover , bassist of Deep Purple .

In Judas Priest, the drummer played on the albums Stained Class (1978), Killing Machine (1978) and the live album Unleashed In The East (1979).
