Leonard Cohen 's experience as a Buddhist monk is the inspiration for the new music video for "Happens to the Heart." This is the first official single from the posthumous album Thanks for the Dance .
The video for “Happens to the Heart” was directed by Daniel Askill . It is part of the series titled Nowness, a partnership with Sony Music Canada that brings international filmmakers to create videos for all the tracks on Thanks for the Dance .
