Motörhead 's frontman , Lemmy, was voted the best bassist/vocalist with 29% of the vote. Geddy Lee and Tom Araya came in second and third place, with 23% and 21% of the vote, respectively.
Lemmy says his bass playing style is unique and impossible to copy. The bassist explains that he started playing the instrument by chance, when the Hawkwind bassist missed a rehearsal. Lemmy says that was the first time he played bass and that he was never very good at guitar.
