Lemmy refused to reunite the classic Motorhead lineup, despite Mikkey Dee's encouragement.

The drummer said he encouraged Lemmy to promote the reunion, but he wasn't interested.

Mikkey Dee revealed during an interview that Lemmy refused a reunion of the classic Motorhead with "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor on drums. The trio was responsible for recording the group's first and most famous albums, such as Overkill (1979) and Ace of Spades (1980).

During an episode of the Waste Some Time (via Ultimate Guitar ), Dee was asked if he would ever play with King Diamond again, with whom he played between 1985 and 1988. He denied it, saying: “I don’t think so, because he’s had Matt Thompson with him for, I don’t know, 20 years. He’s a great drummer. I’ll give you an example: Lemmy received a huge cash offer to tour with 'Philthy Animal' and 'Fast' Eddie Clarke. It was a lot of money, a good deal, but he turned it down,” he recounted.

The drummer then said that Lemmy was happy with Motorhead's lineup at the time. "Lemmy would say, 'Do you think I'm crazy? I play with the best band I've ever had in my entire career, why would I go back to these guys?'" he recounted.

“Not that he didn’t like them, because he loved them. I even told Lemmy that he should do that reunion tour, because it was a good deal for him and I didn’t mind. But he said, ‘Definitely not. I’ve moved on.’”

Mikkey Dee did not reveal when Lemmy rejected the idea of a reunion with "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor. Check out the full interview below.
