Next Friday, May 9, 2025, the legendary founder, bassist and vocalist of Motörhead , Lemmy Kilmister , will be immortalized in a grand ceremony called "Lemmy Forever" in Stoke-On-Trent, England.

The event will feature Phil Campbell , guitarist of Motörhead, who will help place Lemmy's ashes in an imposing statue created by local sculptor and huge fan of the band, Andy Edwards . The day promises to be filled with tributes from the artist's friends.

The ceremony will begin in downtown Burslem around 4 PM (12 PM Brasília time), but fans are encouraged to arrive earlier to enjoy the celebratory atmosphere. Local bars, such as the Old Post Office Bar and the Ale House , will serve Motörhead-themed drinks, while the Market Place Café will offer a special menu, including a daily special inspired by the band.

Among the program highlights are: A procession of motorcyclists accompanying Lemmy's ashes, emotional speeches from friends and celebrities, and a "21-roar salute" (21 engine revvings in homage to Lemmy's timeless rock).

The statue captures Lemmy at his peak live, inspired by the 1981 era when Motörhead headlined the Heavy Metal Holocaust at Port Vale Stadium.

The event also features an exhibition at the Bare Walls Art Gallery – rare photos of Lemmy and exclusive memorabilia will be on display. A tribute night at Grumpy's Bar with the band Motörwrecked and an auction of exclusive items from the official Motörhead collection. A show at the Mitchell Arts Centre with the band Motörheadache performing a special tribute.

The legend that will never fade: Lemmy's death and his eternal legacy.

Lemmy Kilmister, the indomitable rock icon, passed away on December 28, 2015 , at the age of 70, in Los Angeles. The cause of death was an aggressive form of prostate cancer, diagnosed just two days before his passing, along with complications from cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure – consequences of a life lived intensely, but also of decades of dedication to the stage and the road.

His death shook the rock world, but his legacy has only grown since then. Lemmy was laid to rest in a custom-made coffin bearing the Motörhead symbol, and fans from around the world paid their respects in front of the Rainbow Bar & Grill , his legendary Hollywood hangout. In 2016, his ashes were divided into small portions and placed in silver bullet capsules – a tribute to his song “Ace of Spades” and his unparalleled lifestyle.

Besides the statue in Stoke-on-Trent, Lemmy has been immortalized in various ways, such as at Lemmy's Bar in the Rainbow (Hollywood), which keeps his spirit alive with memorabilia and tribute shows. A blue plaque was installed at his birthplace in Burslem, England. In 2021, the band Foo Fighters honored him at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame , playing "Ace of Spades" in his memory.

Now, in 2025, the “Lemmy Forever” ceremony marks another chapter in this story, proving that, as he himself said: “Born to lose, lived to win.” And, for the fans, one thing is certain: Lemmy never dies.
