In 2011, the late Motörhead , Lemmy Kilmister, gave his opinion on Blizzard of Ozz Ozzy Osbourne 's debut solo album . The album had celebrated its 30th anniversary that year and received a special re-release.
The commemorative edition included behind-the-scenes footage, live recordings, and remastered tracks. However, something was left out of the material: a video in which Kilmister talked about the album and its respective tour [ via Loudersound ].
In it, the musician says that he “didn’t like Black Sabbath .” Regarding Blizzard , the bassist stated that it was “great” and also recalled when his band opened for the Prince of Darkness in 1981. “I didn’t really like Black Sabbath when I was in England. Then Ozzy comes along with that great album for his solo debut. It was excellent,” he comments.
“We managed to see him at most of the shows. It was great. A fantastic tour. I traveled across the United States glued to him, we were only two meters apart. Randy Rhoads was simply brilliant, you know? Many believe he became bigger after his death. That's how it is with everyone. But I adored him.”
The recording in which Lemmy gives his opinion on the album that marked Ozzy Osbourne's solo debut has been recovered and made available on YouTube.
