Supergroup featuring members of Tool and Mastodon released eight new songs.
The self-titled debut album from Legend Of The Seagullmen officially arrived on digital platforms this Friday, February 9th. The supergroup is formed by Danny Carey, drummer of Tool, Brent Hinds, guitarist of Mastodon, Pete Griffin, bassist of Zappa Plays Zappa, vocalist David 'The Doctor' Dreyer, keyboardist Chris DiGiovanni, and filmmaker Jimmy Hayward (on guitar).
The album had been previewed by the tracks “Shipswreck” and “The Fogger” . In an interview with Kerrang!, the band spoke about the release. “This is a self-titled work from the Legend Of The Seagullmen. We are the same men who were anointed by the Seagullgod King to bring the pure fury of Rock and save you from the depths.”
Legend of the Seagullmen made their stage debut on January 1st of this year. The performance , which took place during the opening act for the band Primus at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California, lasted 40 minutes and was recorded by fans. Hinds was unable to attend, and Troy Van Leeuwen, guitarist for Queens of the Stone Age, completed the lineup.
