According to a statement by guitarist Jimmy Page Guardian newspaper , Led Zeppelin received an offer to follow in the footsteps of ABBA : to put on a show based on holograms and digital effects that simulate the presence of the musicians live on stage.

Page said that he and his Led Zeppelin bandmates, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones , couldn't reach an agreement, and therefore "the project didn't go ahead."

The guitarist commented that he thought a virtual tour in this style wouldn't be suitable for his previous band, the Yardbirds , but indicated that it could work for Led Zeppelin. He also made positive comments about the show with the Elvis Presley : "I didn't see it, but I bet it was very good," commented the 78-year-old guitarist.

Regardless of the opinions that the controversial show has sparked, the Abba tour has been a success with audiences and critics alike, with venues sold out on several consecutive days.
