In the age of fake news, newspapers and news agencies need to debunk the most absurd fabrications – and the most recent involves Led Zeppelin and former president Lula , a candidate in the 2022 elections seeking a return to office.
The newspaper O Globo published this Monday, the 25th, an explanation regarding the false manipulation of the facts. In a section of the song “Rock and Roll”, from the album Led Zeppelin IV Robert Plant 's voice seems to say words in Portuguese when singing “Oh, seems so long since we walked in the moonlight” (“parece tanto tempo desde que andamos sob a luz da lua”, in Portuguese).
It didn't take long for parodies with election-related themes to circulate on the internet, suggesting that the singer's statement was "You're crazy if you vote for Lula," while others insisted on the phrase "You're crazy if you don't vote for Lula." If anyone still had doubts, it was all just an internet joke.
