James says the band already has a lot of material
In an interview with an American radio station, Lars Ulrich spoke about plans for a new Metallica album. Ulrich said there will be a new album, but that other band projects are taking up time.
“We never want to be a nostalgic band, but we have to keep doing shows, films, and festivals. These things are fun, but they take up a lot of time.”.
In an interview earlier this month, vocalist James Hetfield said that the band has a lot of material accumulated, but doesn't have time to stop and work on new compositions. "Shows are too exciting to give up and stay home.".
The band's next release, the 3D film "Metallica Through The Never," will premiere in the US on August 9th.
