Drummer says album could still be released in 2016

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said in an interview with Metal Forces this week that Metallica's new album is entering a new phase. According to Ulrich, the album should be released in the North American summer.

Quiz: Who are you in Metallica?

“We are nearing the end of the creative process and will begin to look ahead, at how we will share this album with the world. June is basically when we will sit down and think about what we will do with it; what we will call it, and what we will include.”.

The drummer says the album will be ready this year, but it's still possible it won't be released until the end of 2016: “If the album doesn't come out by the end of the year, it won't be because it's not ready. It will be for a cosmic reason that it would be smarter to wait until next year. But the album will be ready this summer.”

Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" will become a historical landmark

The band has been recording with producer Greg Fidelman, who has also worked with Slayer, Black Sabbath, and Slipknot.
