Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich told The AV Club that the collaboration with Lady Gaga on the Grammy-nominated duet of "Moth Into Flame" worked too well to be a one-off event. According to the musician, he and the pop star have already agreed to work together again in the future.
Lars said that Metallica and Lady Gaga only rehearsed "three times at most," and that the collaboration happened organically: "The way her voice and James's voices worked together, blended so well, that we were all just looking like 'huh?'"
He went on to explain that the partnership will continue:
“When you spend 72 hours with someone, and there’s a connection and intimacy, you don’t want it to end. When those moments work out, you leave open the possibility of reconnection. So obviously we’re not sitting around writing things for a next album or anything like that. But I think our weekend together was so natural and authentic and fit so well, that it’s natural to imagine us doing something again in the future. When we were leaving one of the soundchecks she told me, “We have to do something together again. This is too good to leave behind.” And I said, “I agree with you. This is very real.”
