Lars Ulrich , drummer for Metallica , posted on his social media that his 92-year-old father has just released a new album.
In the post, Lars used a photo of himself with his father and wrote: “This is my dad… he’s the one on the left. 92 years old and just getting started… Today, like everyone else his age, he’s releasing a new album (…) Definitely something we should aspire to be.”
Titled Oakland moments: cello, voice, reuniting (rejoicing) , the release is the first by Torben Ulrich with his colleague Lori Goldston , who have been playing together since 2005. With a sound inspired by experimental jazz, the duo presents poems written by Ulrich Sr., who, in addition to being a composer, is also a writer, painter, filmmaker, and director.
