The film will feature two different universes
In an interview with Classic Rock Magazine, drummer Lars Ulrich spoke about the upcoming 3D movie release from Metallica .
Lars said the film will have two different universes: a Metallica concert and a parallel story that doesn't feature any of the band members. At a certain point in the film, the two stories will merge.
Lars also said that one of the band's biggest inspirations was the 1976 Led Zeppelin film, "The Song Remains The Same".
The 3D film was shot during a performance in Vancouver last August and is expected to be released in the middle of this year. Speaking about the film, the drummer said there's little chance the band will release an album this year either, and that fans should expect a new CD in 2014.
