Entombed vocalist Lars-Göran Petrov 2013 changed its name to Entombed AD , but without guitarist Alex Hellid ) died on Monday morning, the 8th, at the age of 49.
In August 2020, the band reported that LG Petrov , as the vocalist is known, had begun chemotherapy treatment for cancer in an attempt to control it.
The announcement of the death was made on the band's Facebook page, which reads:
"We are devastated to announce that our beloved friend Lars-Göran Petrov has passed away."
Our brother, leader, vocalist, our Chief Rebel Angel took his final ride yesterday. It is with profound sadness that we have to announce that he has left us. He was (is!!!) an incredible friend, and a person who touched so many people. He changed so many lives with his voice, his music, his character, and his unique personality. LG's smile is something we will carry forever in our hearts. In an interview, when asked what he would like to have written on his tombstone and what his legacy would be, he said, 'I will never die, you will never die.' And you didn't die. You will live forever in our hearts.
