The last few years have proven once and for all that the maxim "rock is dead" is only accepted by those who, in fact, live inside a dark and isolated cave. The number of new talents emerging in recent years has buried this belief and made it worthy of the mockery it deserves.
One of the latest revelations is the incredibly talented guitarist Larissa Liveir , just 21 years old, who has earned her place in the spotlight by posting covers of rock and metal classics. Her list of covers includes bands like Metallica and Lynyrd Skynyrd , performed masterfully and with excellent production.
Born in Minas Gerais, Larissa received her first guitar at just 8 years old and was introduced to the world of guitar by the iconic game Guitar Hero . The game introduced the world of rock to a large part of the new generation. In an interview with the Fem Metal , Larissa Liveir commented: “I had a joystick guitar for the game and spent many hours playing with it. I simply loved the feeling of playing a song on the guitar, even if it wasn't real. And those rock songs made me feel very happy and powerful.”
Larissa currently plays in the band Honey Bomb , which also includes Mariana Bless (vocals), Anne Spolier (bass), and Bielo Bastani (drums).
Liveir also stated that his favorite genres are classic rock, heavy metal, and alternative metal. All of these styles and many others are part of the collection of covers posted on YouTube and his social media.
Besides Larissa Liveir, a new generation is already carrying the torch.
It's not just Larissa who has emerged in this new generation. A whole range of new artists are dominating the platforms and concert venues, releasing material and fighting to reach the top.
I'll end this article with a simple request, but one that can (and I believe will) greatly expand your musical horizons and, as a bonus, make you more aware of the world we live in: Support, follow, and seek out new artists! Especially in Brazil, there are new groups of all styles, for all tastes, from the Old School of Facing Fear (RJ) to the modern band Demasia (SP). I believe everyone reading this will be well served by this research.
