Lamb Of God: Mark Morton says new drummer is 'less robotic' than Chris Adler.

“I don’t want to compare them too much. They’re just two different drummers,” says Morton.

Guitarist Mark Morton Lamb of God 's new drummer , Art Cruz , who will be on the band's new album, scheduled for release on June 19th, is 'less robotic' than the band's original drummer, Chris Adler .

The statement was made to American Songwriter when asked how writing and playing with the new member was going, after playing with Adler for so long. Morton said, “It’s been fantastic. The songwriting process hasn’t changed at all. We start with guitar riffs. So, the same guys are writing the same guitar riffs that always were.”

“We have a different drummer, and there are definitely differences,” says Mark. “Chris was a phenomenal talent, and he’s a great drummer, and we made a lot of incredible music together, but Art is also a phenomenal talent and a great drummer. He’s more sensitive to the touch. He’s a little less robotic, and I don’t want to delve into that. I don’t want to compare them too much. They’re just two different drummers. But Art is something special, an exquisite player. I think the best example I can give is live with Chris, where we played everything together. There was a click in our ear, which was like a machine that kept the tempo consistent and the same every night. A week after playing with Art live, we were without that click. We were playing the songs together, instead of playing them simultaneously, and I think that also went into our creative process.”

All this talk has only made us more excited to check out Lamb Of God's new drum kit. Can't wait for the 19th!
