Lamb of God officially released their cover of "Children of the Grave" last Sunday, the 6th. The classic Black Sabbath song is part of the 1971 Master of Reality
Guitarist Mark Morton announced the release [via Metal Sucks ]:
“The invitation to perform with Black Sabbath at their final show is one of the greatest honors of our career. As a tribute to the celebration, we recorded our version of the classic 'Children of the Grave,' a protest song with lyrics as relevant today as they were in 1971 when the original was released.”
“Black Sabbath invented heavy metal and, in doing so, changed the world. The genre they created brings immeasurable joy to fans worldwide. We are very grateful to have the heavy metal community as our home. And very grateful to Black Sabbath for the gift their music has given us.”
Lamb of God was one of the bands to perform at Back To The Beginning Black Sabbath 's farewell show , which took place last Saturday, July 5th, at Villa Park in Birmingham, United Kingdom. In addition to their cover of "Children of the Grave," the band also played the classics "Laid to Rest" and "Redneck."
