Lamb of God has called on Phil Demmel , formerly of Machine Head and currently with Vio-lence , to replace Willie Adler for shows in Latin America. Demmel already filled in for Adler at some performances last year.
Demmel played with the band last Tuesday, the 25th, in Bogotá, Colombia, and will perform with them again on Thursday, the 27th, in Santiago, Chile, and on Saturday, the 29th, at Summer Breeze in São Paulo. Adler is expected to return for the show in Mexico on May 2nd.
Although Lamb of God has not officially commented on Adler's absence from the shows, Vio-lence singer Sean Killian revealed in an April 2022 interview that Willie "is not willing to take the vaccine," referring to the COVID-19 vaccine, and is being replaced by Demmel for dates in countries that still require proof of vaccination. Nothing has been confirmed by the band or the musician.
In April 2022, Demmel also filled in for John Campbell of Lamb of God when the bassist had to miss some shows on The Metal Tour Of The Year to "take care of a family matter at home."
for Slayer guitarist Gary Holt at four European shows in the fall of 2018 after Gary returned home to stay with his father. Demmel also filled in for Dave Linsk Overkill 's show on November 13, 2021 at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, New Jersey and on the band's 2022 US tour.
