Band makes statement to authorities.
The Lamb Of God concert in Malaysia, previously scheduled for September 28th, has been cancelled. According to The Star Online, the show in Kuala Lumpur was banned by the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development.
The country's authorities said the band's lyrics infringe on the country's cultural and religious values. The announcement that the show was canceled, however, came from the show's production team, who said the band had received numerous death threats.
The band released a separate statement, apologizing to their fans in the country and taking the opportunity to criticize the authorities responsible for the cancellation:
“It’s clear (and somewhat frustrating) that the groups, parties, and authorities who felt offended by our music only glanced at our work. We invite anyone who felt offended to a discussion about the real motivation behind our work, especially before publicly defaming us based on assumptions and artificial interpretations.”
