The grunge band L7 Joan Jett 's 1983 song, "Fake Friends," featuring the singer herself!
“Having Joan’s vocals on this track along with mine is super surreal and cool,” said Donita Sparks , co-founder of L7, about the collaboration in the announcement. “Our band has experienced a lot of fake friends, especially when you’re sad. Some of those people you thought were your friends can’t be found anymore. Your calls aren’t returned, etc. It’s painful and it sucks. Then you find out who your real friends are.”
The band's version of "Fake Friends" is the A-side of L7's new single , "Witchy Burn," which is a reworked version of the band's own 1979 track, "Burn Baby."
