Kyle Gass of Tenacious D deletes apology post to Donald Trump after controversial statement.

The musician commented on the shooting that injured Donald Trump and caused the cancellation of Tenacious D's tour.

Kyle Gass of Tenacious D deleted his Instagram post in which he apologized for his joke following the attempted assassination of Donald Trump , the former president and now Republican candidate for president of the United States .

During the band's last show in Sydney on July 14th, Jack Black , who forms the duo with Gass, sang "Happy Birthday" to his colleague, who was turning 64 that day. Before blowing out the candles, the guitarist made a wish: "Don't miss Trump next time," referring to the gunshot that hit the former president's right ear during a rally last Saturday, the 13th.

The comment, however, did not go down so well in some parts of the internet, leading to a wave of criticism against the band. In a post made this Tuesday, the 16th, on his Instagram account, Jack Black said that he “would never tolerate hate speech or encourage any form of violence.” He added: “I don’t feel it’s appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour and all future creative plans are on hold.”

Following the controversy, Gass used his social media to apologize for what happened. “The line I improvised on stage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I do not tolerate violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy and I am very sorry,” the musician wrote on social media.

However, that post is no longer visible on Gass's Instagram page. See the photo below (via Loudwire ). Jack Black's post announcing that Tenacious D's activities are on hold is still online.
