The hospital gown worn by Kurt Cobain Nirvana 's iconic 1992 Reading Festival performance will be auctioned off. Bids will be accepted between March 7th and 14th here , with an estimated value of $50,000.

The performance in which Cobain wore the apron is considered one of the band's most famous performances, and was released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2009. The vocalist and guitarist wore the apron to playfully address rumors about his health that surfaced at the time.

Cobain even asked music journalist Everett True to push him in a wheelchair on stage. After starting to sing "The Rose" by Bette Midler, the Nirvana frontman feigned a collapse, then quickly got up.

Also included in the auction lot is a letter John Lennon wrote to Beatles producer George Martin and the VOX guitar Prince used during his tour with his backing band 3RDEYEGIRL.
