Kurt Cobain called Max Cavalera asking for heroin when he was in Brazil.

In 1993, Kurt Cobain was with Nirvana in São Paulo

Nirvana performed in Brazil in 1993 at Hollywood Rock. At the time, Max Cavalera , then vocalist of Sepultura , received an unusual call from frontman Kurt Cobain he could get cocaine.

"If I remember correctly, it was right after we got home from the Sepultura tour. I was pregnant and lying on the sofa, the phone rang and Max answered," said Gloria Cavalera, the singer's wife.

She continued: “Max was surprised to hear Kurt Cobain on the other end of the line. He got our phone from someone in Brazil and explained that he was in Brazil playing at a big festival and was looking for heroin. He asked if Max knew where he could buy some. Max was very surprised and didn’t know exactly what to answer.”

"No, I don't know where to find anything like that, and I'm in the United States," Max replied.

Then, Kurt Cobain continued the conversation and changed the subject to talk about pregnant wives.

“Kurt said he’d heard we were expecting a child. He said he hoped I would suffer less than Courtney [Love] had suffered during childbirth and wished me well before hanging up,” Gloria concluded.
