Kurt Cobain: guitar used in last show and pack of cigarettes sold at auction

Together, the items raised nearly 8 million reais.

Kurt Cobain 's death , items that once belonged to the musician are still among the favorites when they go up for auction.

Recently, the guitar used by the Nirvana in his last show with the band was auctioned for $1,587,500 – equivalent to approximately 7,760,000 reais.

According to Tenho Mais Discos Que Amigos Julien's Auctions website , the 1993 Fender MG-69 Mustang guitar, manufactured in Japan, fetched this exorbitant amount despite signs of damage and wear, such as cracks, peeling paint on the edges, scratches, and other minor defects.

Although some modifications were made to the instrument, the guitar strings were never changed, and these were the last strings Kurt Cobain used during his lifetime.

Kurt Cobain's pack of cigarettes became the most expensive ever sold.

Another item belonging to the Nirvana vocalist was auctioned in the same lot. A pack of American Spirit cigarettes fetched a total of $5,200 (R$25,405), being considered "the most expensive pack" ever sold.

The pack of menthol cigarettes was never opened by Cobain and remained unopened for the last 20 years. The item stayed with the vocalist's roommate at the Exodus rehabilitation center in Los Angeles, where Kurt stayed in March 1994, just days before committing suicide.
