Headstock, a mental health charity based in Manchester, is launching a crowdfunding campaign to create a mural to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain .
It will be located near The Bred Shed, a famous concert venue in the English city, and will feature the collaboration of renowned street artist Akse . The choice of location is not random, as it is close to the place where Nirvana played their only two shows in the city, now occupied by the University of Manchester Students' Union.
The initiative aims not only to celebrate the life and legacy of Kurt Cobain, but also to raise awareness about the importance of mental health support. To this end, part of the funds raised will be allocated to the support service Shout 85258, which offers 24/7 assistance via text message or phone call to people experiencing emotional distress.

The goal is to reach a total of £3,500.00 to enable the creation and installation of the mural. Each donation is a way to collaborate in the realization of the artistic project and the cause of mental health, supporting a vital service for those facing emotional difficulties.
Kurt Cobain, who died on April 5, 1994, at the age of 27, remains an influential figure in music culture and a symbol for many. This mural joins a series of other tributes to musical icons, such as Ian Curtis of Joy Division and Keith Flint of The Prodigy , all overseen by Headstock and with artwork created by Akse. The project celebrates Cobain's memory and highlights the importance of supporting mental health in our society, using art as a form of awareness and expression.
