A book by the band's former manager revealed that Kurt knew Dave could sing well
The late Nirvana , Kurt Cobain , apparently knew that Dave Grohl could sing well. This information is in the book Serving the Servant: Remembering Kurt Cobain , by Nirvana's former manager, Danny Goldberg .
“Kurt told me, ‘I don’t think you realize how well Dave sings, but I hear him singing all the time.’ It seemed like he was doing it so I would know. He had a brotherly side, a sweet side. But at the same time, he was envious. Kurt was very competitive,” Goldberg said.
He also said that he hopes that those who read the book will have a more positive view of Kurt. “You’ll never not know that he killed himself. But I hope it sheds light on some parts of him that few people know. That’s what I want the book to do. That people can see his smile the way I see it in my mind.”
