The tragic death of Kurt Cobain marked its 27th anniversary this Monday, April 5th. The Nirvana received tributes from fans around the world and is now featured in a virtual space in Washington, D.C., with an augmented reality mural.
Created by artist DS Bradford , the mural is located in the artist's hometown, by the River Wishkah, near the Kurt Cobain Under The Bridge memorial. Using vibrant colors such as green and yellow, the artist incorporated a line from the lyrics of "All Apologies" into the artwork.
Unfortunately for Brazilians, the artwork can only be accessed by visitors to the site. Viewing the mural requires access to the camera and location of the device attempting to access the artwork. For those visiting Kurt Cobain Memorial Park, the virtual view will make the experience more than complete.
The mural is part of a series of augmented reality murals created by Bradford, who has also installed tributes to icons such as David Bowie, Prince, Chris Cornell , and John Lennon in various cities around the world. The location of each one can be found here .
