On August 14, 1995, Krisiun released Black Force Domain , the debut album from the national death metal band. Receiving instantly rave reviews, the album achieved great success, elevating the band to a respectable status due to their incredibly intense live performances.
Formed in 1990 by brothers Alex Camargo (bass and vocals), Moyses Kolesne (guitar) and Max Kolesne (drums), Kriisun helped shape the Brutal Death Metal genre with their debut album Black Force Domain . Extremely technical, brutal and fast, the album experiments with different approaches, adding experimentalism to traditional death metal, as well as elements of black metal.
Although the band gained worldwide recognition with their third album, Conquerors of Armageddon (2000), where they truly found their formula, it was their debut album that became a benchmark in the genre, as well as helping to put Brazil on the death metal map. Today, Krisiun is a renowned band with a vast repertoire and tours around the world. They even performed at Wacken Open Air 2025.
At the time, there were already big names on the national scene, such as Sepultura, which had already made its mark in thrash metal, and Angra with power metal. However, Krisiun appeared to rekindle the flame of 80s death metal, but with a more brutal approach.
