This Friday, the 6th, Kreator released their new single, "Midnight Sun," and the song contains a surprise: a female vocal.

In a statement, vocalist Mille Petrozza spoke about the choice to invite a woman to do some of the backing vocals. “'Midnight Sun' is something new for us. It's the first time we've collaborated with a woman,” he said.

“When I was writing the song, I could hear this Oracle-like voice over the pre-chorus and chorus, and I immediately contacted my talented friend Sofia Portanet , who is an up-and-coming artist here in Germany. Sofia added exactly what I was looking for, and it gives the song a really dark and ethereal vibe,” she concludes.

The video for “Midnight Sun” was directed by Tom Schlagkamp , ​​who drew inspiration from the horror film Midsommar (2019) to build the visual concept based on the song's lyrics – which Petrozza envisioned as being set in a sacrificial ritual.
