Korn frontman Jonathan Davis released a country version of "What It Is," a 2018 track from his debut solo album Black Labyrinth .
Linking the band and its members to the country genre is nothing new; in July of this year, the band shared a cover of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the country group Charlie Daniels Band alongside rapper Yelawolf . The tribute was to raise funds for the Awakening Youth Foundation , an organization that helps people in bereaved situations.
Davis had spoken at the time about his interest in the genre, stating, "I've always said this, but country music is some of the darkest," and the new version of his song proves his point.
