Korn drummer David Silveria an KCAL-FM radio about the production of the album Follow The Leader . The album turned 20 years old in August 2018.
“When we made Follow The Leader , it was complete chaos every day and every night of filming,” David recalled. “We rented a house in Hollywood. We basically threw parties every night after the studio. There was a balcony and everyone threw beer cans into the yard. When we finished filming, the yard was completely covered in cans, a meter high. We spent $85,000 on drinks.”
Silveria also spoke about what it was like working with rapper Ice Cube and comedian Cheech Marin on the album.
“At the time, our band was still very new. When Cheech Marin came to the studio, or when Ice Cube came to the studio, we were blown away. NWA influenced me a lot. I always used those kind of hip-hop beats in our songs,” he said. “So, having those guys working on the album was amazing.”
