Korn explains Fieldy's indefinite absence: "We want him to get healthy."

James “Munky” Shaffer commented on the bassist's absence from the band's tour

James “Munky” Shaffer , guitarist for Korn , explained Fieldy's indefinite absence from the band, which is preparing to release the album Requiem .

“Right now he’s taking some time to figure out what makes him happy, to understand his happiness and what he wants to do with his life. I think that’s the best way to put it,” Munky explained to Loudwire Nights (via Blabbermouth) . “And to make sure his mental health is in the best possible state, because if you’re not well, you make bad choices.”

According to the guitarist, this time away from touring and other promotional obligations is intended to help Fieldy on his journey of self-discovery and healing: “We’re giving him time to figure out what he wants to do, without pressure, because [that way] we can still work and tour. But we miss him. We love this guy and want him to get healthy.”.

The hiatus from his activities as a bassist was announced by Fieldy himself five months ago , for rehabilitation from "bad habits" with which he had relapsed in recent years.
