Korn was the main headliner at the Download Festival last Sunday, the 15th, and the performance was considered by Louder an "absolute triumph," elevating the band to the level of other Download headliners such as Metallica , Black Sabbath , and Guns N' Roses .
Formed in 1993, the band made its first appearance at the festival 21 years ago and has now finally achieved headliner status. Their most recent releases include the album Requiem (2022) and a Deluxe version of the album Untitled (2007).
According to Louder , Korn's performance held up "without fireworks, without an elaborate show, just a kaleidoscope of lights and some of the best nu metal songs," which was fully embraced by the audience. The site also stated that the collective chorus of the crowd during "Freak On A Leash" and the explosion of streamers that ended the band's performance "signals Korn's elevation to the same level as Metallica, Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses and all the other bands that have headlined this stage over the years. It was a triumph."
Korn in Brazil
Korn's last visit to Brazil was in 2017 with The Serenity of Suffering . Despite rumors about a possible return in recent years, the band has not yet confirmed new dates in Brazil. In 2024, Wikimetal readers pointed to Korn as one of the most desired bands to be part of the Knotfest Brasil – but the group was not announced as part of the festival.
