To celebrate the release, KK's Priest also released the official music video for the epic closing track of the album, “Return Of The Sentinel,” which is nine minutes long. “The music and video for 'The Return Of The Sentinel' define the entire sound and image of the evolution of classic and true metal… The metal that is such an important part of all of us who have been on this wonderful journey together,” said KK Downing .
Sermons Of The Sinner received positive reviews from outlets such as Kerrang! and Louder , which described it as “the [ Judas ] Priest you weren’t expecting.” The description matches a recent statement by vocalist and former Judas Priest member Tim “Ripper” Owens , who said the album sounds somewhat like a sequel to Demolition (2001).
“I think this album is the kind of album KK wanted to make with Judas Priest because that’s how he writes. It shows you why albums become what they are. This album shows so much of KK Downing. KK wrote the album he wanted and he wrote it for me to sing,” he stated.
