Guitarist gives interview
In an interview with BlastEcho, former Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner discussed the conditions under which he would return to play with the band.
Asked if he would play with his former bandmates at the Hall of Fame, Downing said: “I would be open to something like that, yes.” Regarding something more permanent, Downing replied: “Obviously they have Richie Faulkner there now. Maiden works with three guitars, but I don’t think there’s room for an extra guitarist in Priest. Priest has always been a two-guitar band, I don’t see that working.”
To rejoin the band, Downing said it would only happen if it were a tour with Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. “It would be something I’d have to be a part of (…) Just because I’d like to see the biggest Heavy Metal tour happen, because it never happened. And it never will. Unfortunately, that chapter of history won’t last forever, which is sad.”
