The rights can generate up to $400,000 per year
Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing is selling the rights to over 130 of the band's songs, including classics such as "Breaking the Law," "You've Got Another Thing Comin'," and "Painkiller." According to Billboard , a collection of songs like this generates between $340,000 and $400,000 per year.
Apparently, Downing invested millions in the Astbury Hall resort, which went bankrupt and is being sold for around $13 million. The next step is the sale of the rights to 136 Judas Priest songs. Commenting on the sale of Downing's catalog rights, joint administrator Alastair Massey called it "a unique investment opportunity.".
Downing left Judas Priest in 2011 and was replaced by Richie Faulkner.
