Judas Priest will finally be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at an in-person event taking place in November of this year.
The inclusion of the band in the institution encompasses not only the current members of Priest, but also former bandmates KK Downing , Les Binks , and the late Dave Holland .
During the ceremony, Judas Priest will receive the Musical Excellence Award, and many are already speculating about the possibility of the band playing with its former members. While Rob Halford seemed relaxed about the possibility of seeing his old colleagues again , KK Downing is still trying not to get his hopes up too high.
In a recent interview , the founding guitarist of KK's Priest was asked which songs he would like to play with his former band – and he dodged the question.
“I don’t know what the logic would be – if Glenn [ Tipton ] is present, I know he’s playing some shorter songs. And if that’s the case, I’m sure the songs would be the ones that would make him comfortable,” he commented. “I don’t think about what the repertoire would be; I think about whether it would and could happen the way people expect. We’ll have to see.”
"It's still early, there are almost six months to go, so anything can happen until then. And it depends on what people want to happen, including me. I'll have to think carefully," he concluded.
In a previous interview, Downing had also been less positive than his former Priest colleagues, responding that being accepted into the Hall of Fame "lost some of the excitement" after so many years of waiting.
