KK Downing lost interest in reuniting with Judas Priest: "Nothing could convince me."

A founding member of Judas Priest left the group in 2011.

KK Downing , a founding member of Judas Priest , has moved on after leaving the band and recently answered in an interview whether he is still interested in rejoining the group.

Ten years after leaving the band, at the time due to creative differences and dissatisfaction with its management, the guitarist tried to return to the group over the years, but received several negative responses , until he finally formed KK's Priest with other former members of Judas Priest.

Asked by The Metal Voice about a possible future reunion, Downing was emphatic. “Nothing could convince me, that’s it. No means no, you have to accept it after hearing it many times and it happened,” he replied. “I’m already preparing material for the next [KK’s Priest] album. I felt a little insecure. Can I do this? When I found out I could, it was great.”

Downing's departure stems from a certain amount of resentment towards his former colleagues, as he recounted on Eddie Trunk SiriusXM radio . "The door was closed, I think. Because I wrote to the guys on two or three different occasions to ask them to take me back, but the answer was no," he lamented.

KK's Priest will release their debut album, Sermons of the Sinner , on August 20th of this year. The band's lineup includes Tim “Ripper” Owens and drummer Les Binks , both formerly of Judas Priest , alongside guitarist AJ Mills and bassist Tony Newton .
