KK Downing , former guitarist of Judas Priest , has released a new version of "Never Satisfied," a song from the band's debut album Rocka Rolla (1974). The song features vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens .

In an interview with the UCR Podcast , KK Downing recalled the experience of co-writing the song with Judas Priest's original vocalist, Al Atkins : “We just had fun in a guest room, trying to create something different. We wrote quite a bit and then hit the road. In my memory, 'Never Satisfied' was always in the repertoire. When Al left and Rob [ Halford] joined, we were on the road for at least a few years. We had the song in the repertoire [at that time] with Rob singing it as well.”

The idea to re-record the track came after the 50th anniversary reissue of Rocka Rolla , released in 2024: “I thought, ‘I’m going to plug in my guitar and try to play some of these songs,’” he recalls. “I just had fun doing it and thought about recording the track and asking Ripper to be kind enough to include a vocal. It came about very quickly and was fun.”
