Kittie announced this Wednesday, the 20th, the release of the new EP Spit XXV . The four-track EP celebrates the 25th anniversary of her debut album, Spit , which received a gold record certification.

Along with the announcement, the Canadian band released a new version of the title track, “Spit XXV”. Spit XXV is scheduled for release on September 19th via Sumerian Records .

Spit XXV features new versions of the album's four singles: "Brackish," "Charlotte," "Do You Think I'm A Whore," and the title track, "Spit." All produced, once again, by Garth Richardson, who oversaw the original sessions in 1999 at EMAC Studios .

In a press release, vocalist and guitarist Morgan Lander commented: “It’s hard to believe that 25 years after its release, and almost 30 years after the start of Kittie, people are still talking about 'Spit'. There’s something truly inexplicable about why our debut album still resonates, finds a new audience, and has had such a lasting impact on so many people.”

Spit ’s 25th anniversary was a lot of fun and a real testament to their longevity. It reveals just how relevant they still are in today’s music scene. It was an honor to work with Garth again, back where it all began, after more than two decades, and doing so was an incredible way to pay homage to the past while also updating these songs with a modern sound, bringing them into the future,” he reflected.
