A video recorded by a fan KISS 's show in Antwerp, Belgium, has reinforced suspicions among some fans that the band has been using pre-recorded audio in their live performances.
At the end of the performance of “Detroit Rock City”, it’s possible to see that drummer Eric Singer gets distracted for a moment and continues playing at the standard tempo when he should have taken a break. This causes him to start the drum roll late and out of sync with the rest of the band.
Paul Stanley 's voice saying " Everybody's gonna leave their seat " before the singer reaches for the microphone and belatedly repeats the words. It's possible to see that Paul is repeating the phrase, but his voice isn't heard on the microphone.
Suspicions of playback at KISS shows are nothing new. Since the beginning of the End of The Road Tour in 2019, some fans have speculated that Paul Stanley might be using backing tracks , as the singer had been demonstrating difficulty hitting certain notes live for many years. We at Wikimetal were present at the band's show in São Paulo and concluded that, if there is indeed playback, it "is not constant and does not harm the quality of the show" . What do you think?
