The question persists, and so do the controversies. After all, is there a possibility of a reunion of the four founding members of KISS ? For Paul Stanley , the answer is no.

Despite having stated in May that he “ didn’t rule out ” the participation of Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in the band’s farewell tour, Paul Stanley now claims that the move is “impossible” and compared the possible reunion to trying to rekindle a long-ended relationship (transcription via Blabbermouth ): “You go back to the person and it’s not the same anymore,” he commented. “And you quickly realize, as we did, why it didn’t work the first time.”

“The original four are the original four. We were the ones who started this and built the stage we still stand on today. I think people’s mistake is thinking that things remain untouched and that time doesn’t eventually take its toll,” Stanley reflected. “You might want Mom and Dad to get back together, but it didn’t work out. And we had incredible moments, we lived through incredible times, and we did phenomenal things together, and you can link me to them forever. But the fairy tale isn’t like that; it doesn’t end there.”

"I've said this before: we couldn't have gotten this far without Ace and Peter, and we couldn't have gotten this far with Ace and Peter either," he added.
